On the occasion of World Heart Day 2020, a public webinar on Heart failure - Living with Heart Failure will take place on Tuesday, September 29.

Dr. Jeanne Conry, MD, PhD is the President-elect of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, a professional organization with 132 member societies from around the globe. She was the 64th President of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a membership organization representing over 57,000 obstetricians and gynecologists. She Chairs the Women's Preventive Services Initiative, a United States coalition of national health professional organizations and consumer and patient advocates with expertise in women’s health. WPSI develops, reviews and updates recommendations for women’s preventive healthcare services. In 2013, she introduced the National Maternal Health Initiative to reduce maternal mortality and improve health before, during and after pregnancy. Dr. Conry has led national policy on the important role of Reproductive Health and the Environment and was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency Pacific Southwest Region Children’s Environmental Health Champion Award.
She is a Board member of the Forum Institute, a non-profit organization devoted to improving children’s health by addressing preconception through infancy, particularly the relationship between health and the environment. For twenty-eight years, Dr. Conry was a practicing obstetrician gynecologist at Kaiser Permanente, the largest health maintenance organization in the United States, where she served in a leadership capacity. She currently serves as President and CEO of the Environmental Health Leadership Foundation. She received the Visionary Leadership Award from the University of California, and The United States House of Representatives acknowledgment for accomplishments in women’s health. Dr. Conry earned her medical degree and completed residency at the University of California, Davis. She served as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Davis. She has a PhD in biology from the University of Colorado. She has been awarded honorary fellowships in The Taiwan Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology and The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.

Professor Chittaranjan Narahari Purandare is a senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist of India, coming from renowned Purandare Family of Gynaecologists serving for over 110 years in Mumbai.
He qualified as MBBS from T N Medical College and Nair Hospital in 1974 and completed his MD in obstetrics and Gynaecology from the same institution in 1978. He proceeded for further studies and experience to Republic of Ireland and was the first Indian to do MAO (Masters in the Art of Obstetrics) by research from the National University of Ireland. He specialised in Labour analgesia in Labour during his tenure in Ireland in the University Hospital Galway, Ireland. He returned to India in 1983 and practiced at Purandare Hospital Chowpatty in South Mumbai and in Purandare Hospital Andheri west in Suburb of Mumbai. He has been associated with many private hospitals in Mumbai .He was appointed as Honoray Professor Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Grant Medical College and J J Hospital where he worked for 20 years and has been an undergraduate and Post graduate teacher training hundreds of students. He became the President of Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society in 2004 and after working for 4 years as Honorary Secretary General of FOGSI (FEDERATION OF OBST & GYNAEC SOCIETIES OF INDIA) became the President of FOGSI in 2009 and President of Indian College of OBGYN. He worked on the Editorial board of the Journal of OBGYN in INDIA – JOGI and held the position of EDITOR IN CHIEF for 3years. Currently he is the Emeritus editor of the Journal. He also worked as the Dean Indian College of OBGYN for 9 years and is currently the Emeritus Dean of the College. Dr.C.N.Purandare has been working tirelessly for women's health, and maternal health in particular in Mumbai, Maharashtra and India for last 45 years.
He has been honoured by over 14 countries with Honorary Fellowships such as the Royal College of OBGYN UK, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, the American College of OBGYN, USA, the Sri Lankan College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, German College of Ob/Gyn, the European College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and many more along with membership of Romanian, French and Colombian OBGYN Associations. He was awarded the prestigious Dr B C Roy award for medico social work by the Medical Council of India and the Government of India for the year 2009, and Emeritus Professor of the Institute of Research, Moscow, Russia. Maharashtra Government honoured him with the designation of Emeritus Professor of OBGYN at Grant Medical College and J J Group of Hospitals FOR LIFE in the year 2020. He has been awarded numerous national and international awards such as Life Time Achievement Award by FOGSI, IFS of India, Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Laxmibai Adik Award, Ganatra Award and B N Purandare excellence Award. He has been the Elected President of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (2015- 2018), which is the highest OBGYN body in the world - a great honour to be held by an Indian. He represented FIGO on UN, WHO and PMNCH Boards. He held the office of President of FOGSI, (National Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist of India) in 2009 and Mumbai obstetrics and Gynaecological Society in 2004. He has delivered over 700 lectures at various meetings in India and abroad and delivered over 30 Orations.

Dr Muna AbdulRazzaq Tahlak is the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of Latifa Women and Children Hospital (a 340-bedded specialised hospital) of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Government of Dubai, UAE since 20 March 2014. She is also Adjunct Faculty at Mohamed Bin Rashid University, Dubai, UAE.
Dr Tahlak is an obstetrics and gynaecology consultant and the first Emirati lady to complete her specialization in obstetrics and gynaecology from the John Hopkins Hospital, United States of America (USA). In 1997, she graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and topped her class in pathology. She is American Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2005.
Prior to joining the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr Tahlak worked in USA as an obstetrics and gynaecology consultant from 2004 to 2006.
Dr Muna joined Latifa Women and Children Hospital, Dubai Health Authority on 15 November 2006 as a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist. She later held the posts of Assistant Head of Obs/Gyn and Head of Obs/Gyn at Latifa Hospital.
During her tenure as the head of the department, Dr Tahlak developed the minimal invasive surgery services at the hospital. She established the outpatient office hysteroscopy procedure at the hospital without the need for hospitalization or anaesthesia as it used to be done previously.
She also served as the Director of Obs/Gyn Residency Program of DHA from 2007 till 2010. She is a member of several esteemed national and international societies and associations which includes:
Dr Tahlak regularly participates in various conferences as a speaker, she has received various awards for excellence in her field and she provides training for resident doctors. Dr Muna has many publications in peer reviewed journals.
